Business requirements
The Target audience will be the students aged 16- 21, that have an interest in doing Art  at A level, as it will require information that they need before taking it as an A level. It will also target parents as they can have a better understanding of the subject requires and offers as an A level.  We also have to make this multimedia piece user-friendly as not all parents for example will know how to use computers. 
The purpose/Business objectives for this is to inform students and parents on the A level course, promote the subject itself and in general entertain the audience so they enjoy watching the video and are not bored as if they are bored it could lose concentration which will then make the subject unsellable. I would want to this to be promotional by making it educational but entertaining by including some kind of game or virtual reality. Webpages and digital posters are also a good way of advertising as most people are used to this form because the internet is so used, and its unlikely that people don’t know how to use a computer.

Audience this will be for students that are hardworking, creative, have an artistic mind, willing to expand their skills by being a part of work experience, experimenting with different material and able to work well in groups. they also need to have good listening skills as they will need to learn to listen to their customers when they are creating work for others. They need to have an interest in Art and need to have a good attitude in wanting to know more. There is No cultural or race as its universal. Both genders are suitable for this course. The age is from 16 to 21.

Multimedia Types
There are many types of multimedia that could target my audience and help with the purpose of the video. To start off with I could use Navigation which is used to show people around a place. I would use thins technique to show students and parents around the school and most importantly around the art department. The purpose of this is so they have a rough idea of what the department looks like.  Images will also be used as I could take pictures of current students working or pictures of teachers in the department. I could show videos of student and teachers talking about their experience with art and them introducing themselves or a video of the department also include videos of actual events. People’s pieces of work could be a good way of prompting as it could give the target audience a rough idea of what their course might involve I will include text to show the information e.g. names, titles etc.  I would use graphics to show these things I would also use it to show the school logo or drawings that people have done to make it more interesting. Animation could be used to make this more fun, by having moving images. I could be using audio to give information about the course, pieces of work etc.  I can add links on the pages so they can straight away go onto a page of information they specially want to know more about.

Platform is either a Mac or PC. At this day and age, it needs to be a multi-platform as people are buying Mac’s as research has shown that sales are increasing, so this needs to be views in Mac and PC form.

Text, Animation, Navigation, Graphics, links and images are good to use for those with hearing difficulties. Navigation with sound, videos, audio is useful for those that are blind, using different types of media will help reach other peoples needs as there is always ways for people to understand. using images and animation can help those with problems like being unable to speak English, text could be used for this too but in different languages for some people.

The media department at Kingswood school wanted us to help keep record of membership, payments and reviews as at the moment they are handwritten of their film club which has been running for 2 years. They show films every month, and students pay a small fee to become a club member.

I have successfully finished completed a database for their film club. I created forms, queries, macros, tables and the relationship between them.

I’ve followed the specification I wrote at the beginning of this project and I’ve recently just tested the database and it was successful as everything is running perfectly as a part of my P7.

The 4 points below featured in my spec have all been followed:

1. Take handwritten data and put in correct tables – I successfully appended the data into the newly created tables and so you can view all data in the set up that was simple and understandable.
2. Be able to add new member successfully – this was done by creating a registration form so new member can be put into the database.
3. I also created a query with this form so the data can be appended into the right table. After testing the form proved to work successfully so no improvements were made.
4. Report each month’s data – I created a report which allows me to view the data from a specific time period and open it in a word document so it’s easily printed.
5. Validation rules – as I was creating the form and tables I also included different types of validation rules, range check, presence check, list check, input mask and format checks. This was done because it has the data in a certain way that would be easier and a way that I’d prefer.  All the validations were also checked and it was successful.

Improvement

To make the database better and more organised there is a few improvements that I’ve made:

1. I made more forms, so there wasn’t just a member form I made a payment, film reviews form, this will help with the database as users will be able to make reviews etc. more advanced.
2.  I’ve made the database only editable to those with a password so that the database is never messed around with unexpectedly and only those with the password can access this. I did this by opening access office and opening the data base file by clicking the file tab using the open command, click the arrow next to the open button and then select open exclusive.
3. Adding a switch board will allow using the database easily like a website, I will do this so when the customers open up the database they will not have to looks through the database menus to find the form they need.
4. Disable menus will also help with securing the database so no one else can access the data.
